Andrew Sinatra: It is a mental disorder (there is a distinction between disorder, disease, condition, etc). What most people know as "sociopath" is actually called antisocial personality disorder-its a personality disorder, not a clinical disorder like depression, anxiety, schizophrenia, bipolar, ADHD, etc....there is profound difference between clinical disorders and personality disorders (but that isn't too relevant to your paper)....It is considered a disorder that evolves due to biological abnormalities and environmental factors. You could write a good paper on it being a disorder, if you teacher will allow disorder from the DSM IV TR (Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders)....Show more
