if i tear down some old cabinets i dont like and put new modern ones up is it decorating or remodeling?

Tamatha Neubaum: Definitely remodeling. Decorating would be if you repainted the cabinets a different color.

Sonya Volcko: Remodeling, because you are taking something down and possibly installing something in its place or leaving it plain. Redecorating would be more akin to, say, changing the drapes, or getting a new lamp. :)
