Bird Baths and garden question?

Lorine Helwick: i might substitute the water each and on a daily basis or another day. Mosquitoes like status water that has long gone stagnet. this does not must be in a fowl tub. purely spray your water hose on a annoying spray to push the previous water out and the sparkling water in. additionally status water will create alge so the backside may be eco-friendly. that desires to be wiped sparkling besides. If the water is left unattended that's going to allure to mosquitos. yet another element is , whether that's a shallow fowl tub then the water will evaporate....Show more

Fermin Tara: You can make one yourself! Find a metal trash can lid, and several cement blocks or clay pipes. Place the lid upside down on the blocks or pipes (with the handle down in the holes) and put a brick in the center. Fill with water. The brick will help hold the lid down and give the birds a place to land should they choose to do so. Most of the time, they will land on the edge or! hop in and take a bath. My birdbath is made with an old metal saucer sled on clay pipes.

Delmy Varano: We have two that are just like you say. One is a composite material, made to look like stone, that is very heavy and really nice. I like it because it's tough and can stand a good cleaning with a stiff brush. The older one is a white plastic one, and to weigh it down you twist off the top, pour water or sand in the base then replace the top. The white has become very discolored. I could use a plastic spray paint to make it look better, but that might not be safe for the birds. We got the cheap plastic one at a garden center or a home improvement store, a long time ago. We got the nice one at a Wild Birds Unlimited Store, and it was around $100 but it's well worth it....Show more

Dalila Yoon: There are many birdbaths like this! In fact I think the majority are. Go have a look at a local nursery or hardware store and I'm sure there will be a good selection of sta! nding bird baths. Like you said, you will want to clean in out! once in a while and refill it when it gets low. :)
