Lester Haschke: not if it works from the live install.did i read that correctly?download it again checking the md5sum or whatever it is called.if you continue to have problems try Mandriva 2009 which is said to be good with laptops and wifi setup (i just read that so . . .)Mandriva used to have problems with the live disk install one year so maybe go for the DVD or buy a CD/DVD (coupla dollars and always good to install from when the internet is down or slow)Also, leaving it ten minutes or twenty etc until you get /some/ output from which to diagnose the problem is good advice as it may seem like it is taking a long time but if it is a 'net' install you may have a slow connection. A scratch on the CD? Don't give up as it will work and is worth the wait. I see you /did/ buy the CD (I meant from their site - sorry) Also, if the live version worked, the full install is probably completed now! I remember quite a worrying pause when I installed Ubuntu - can't say at what perc! entage it wasGood luck and keep it up. Logan Bero: The config. hardware is one of the longest processes during installation, leave it for around 10 minutes to complete the process (It can take longer)Installation times of Ubuntu differ depending on the speed of the machine.LUg....Show more
Clare Hoard: I left it for 9 hours and it never moved. Is there a setting I need to change in BOIS or a hardware issue. I have read post that other have been able to install it on the same computer.
