Maynard Reevers: Hawaiian Eskimo: It's not impossible, I'm just forgetting the name of the project that did that.Ankit: Thanks for the try, but that's not what I'm after.I'm not after sharing files, I'm after sharing tasks: like every time I do something that does heavy processing, the other computer will automatically help. Here are some details that will help:1. I know a lot about computers and Linux/Unix and compiling, etc. If you know a lot, don't hesitate to throw technical terms at me. What I don't know, I can figure out2. I'm on a Mac, so anything for the Mac or Linux/Unix I can work with, either compiling from source or MacPorts can help.3. If you're thinking Xgrid, that doesn't work the way I need it to. That only shares specific tasks, whereas I want it to share everything my computer does. This will probably not get an answer because nobody here, in past experience, knows that much, but I just thought I'd see....Show more
Raven Purl: Impossible, I'm afraid.!
Cyndy Grimes: I think I understand what you are after. I did quite a bit of reach on it about a year ago, but I couldn't find a great solution for my purposes. I wanted to use it to setup a virtual machines across the network of computer. If I needed more processing power, I wanted to be able to just add another computer to the network and not have to worrry about reinstalling applications or moving data. It is called cluster computing or parallel virtual machines. Take a look at these links and let me know if they help. If you find a better link or either of these work great for you, let me know....Show more
