If heavy lifting is part of the job then you will want something to show any restrictions are strictly temporary -- in your back pocket if it comes up. If its a non physical position it may not even be a factor. If you need to, use the phrase "I may need a REASONABLE ACCOMODATION just until my shoulder heals." If you are on any pain meds, they'll show up on the drug tests, if they are part of the exam.I would wait for the exam and speak with the doctor about his or! her findings. If anything negative arises, speak to the hiring manager ASAP and be sure to tell him or her that you still want the job and feel you are capable of performing the task for which you are being hired. (Assuming that you *are* capable.)It can be hard and time consuming to find a good candidate. It would be in their best interest to still hire you of you can do the work and it may still be in their best interest if they have to make some minor changes to your start date or initial duties.Communication is the key!...Show more
