Are you happy with the amount of taxes you pay?

Len Dalba: I'm comfortable with what I pay now. I would not mind paying a little more though.

Launa Weingarten: I'm really not. I definitely don't get their value. I've never called the Police for a domestic dispute, never set fire to my house by smoking in bed, never claimed unemployment, don't have kids to send to school, don't drive, etc. I'm paying for services I neither use nor need. But hey, what are you going to do. I've always favored a consumption tax or VAT tax. It's much fairer, esecially to us ascetics....Show more

Jene Licausi: No - I think too much is wasted. Far too much.

Particia Thorton: No I would like to pay less that way I can spend my money the way I want to spend it. I am tired of the government thinking they can do a better job than I can do with my own money.

Iris Shawcroft: Yes to income taxes, no to property and sales taxes

Clementina Collelo: No. Federal income tax (including capital gains taxes), State inco! me tax, State sales tax, local option sales tax, ad valorem taxes on cars, county and city property taxes. It is a miracle anything is left after paying these taxes. You also mentioned FICA and Medicare which probably won't even be around when I retire. It shocked me how much FICA I have paid over the years and will not likely see a cent of it (several tens of thousands). The new cap and tax will increase everything. Democrats always disguise their "taxes" because they count on ignorant people to keep electing them....Show more

Adrian Paraz: If the money was spent the way it was intended then we would all be paying less. The legislature is the biggest special interest group of all.

Star Gollnick: Who in the world is happy with the taxes they pay and think they should pay more? Certainly not me!! I would certainly love to see the reasoning of those who disagree. I was figuring the other day all the taxes and "fees" I pay and it's probably at least 35% of my inc! ome. ......toll road tax, vehicle registration tax, hotel ta! x, ...........Show more

Elinore Schlinker: No it is ridicules.Do not forget traffic tickets and Permits for everything.

Bailey Lares: Nope, I would like to pay less....

Ezekiel Kadner: I feel like I'm in a pretty good spot in life. I have a good job and am able to provide for myself even after all the taxes are taken out.As for paying more/less, I just want the money to be used wisely and for the greatest good. I'm blessed in my life and don't mind sharing that with others.

Gladys Worthing: What the Democrats and Republicans don't want you to know is that Government can be completely paid for WITHOUT any need for either ANY form of taxation or ANY public debt. This applies to federal government, state government, county government, city and town government, school districts and special governing entities. There is absolutely no need for either taxation or debt! But the Republicans and Democrats want you to keep paying taxes, instead of educating! you on this issue, so they can continue to hold power over you.Once Americans learn how this works our entire society will go through some very extraordinary changes. Not the kind of change Obama promises. Imagine the economic benefits to individuals, families and businesses as well as the entire nation once we are free of taxation and public debt!...Show more

Arnette Dominici: Well I enjoy things like paved roads, subsidies on a ton of products I buy, police officers and firefighters to protect me and my property. Taxes are part of life, remember you get a lot in return. (this message has been brought to you by the internet, whose development is funded by federal tax dollars)...Show more

Cuc Gire: No, I could afford to pay more to make this a better country for all of us to live in. I would like better roads bridges and health care.

Bettye Arre: I'm never happy with paying taxes, however, some things are necessary...like public schooling and public saf! ety. These things I don't mind paying for, but there are a whole list o! f taxes that I think take it over the limit.

Buddy Ardd: Last year 256,000. in state and federal taxes and 46,000.00 in property taxes not to mention 9.5% sales tax in the SF Bay Area where I live. NO NEW TAXES.Higher taxes only translate into MORE govt waste, not more services.

Sherrill Botting: I would love to lower my taxes, but I'm not willing to cut my services and I'm not willing to cut services in areas that I don't use but others do (my property taxes pay for schools even though I'm childless, ss will be gone by time I am old enough but my grandmother receives it).

Donte Liversedge: Don't forget about the Spanish-American war funding tax you still pay on your phone billI agree that the tax code and taxes in general need simplification; however you will be very hard pressed to get all those hands out of the till nowadays. They'll scream bloody murder if anyone tries.
