Some people don't get joy out of reading and that's fine, this question is like asking people to like the same foods as you and getting offended when they don't. Just because someone is in the art field does not automatically require them to enjoy every type of art, and its silly to think so. It makes sense for her, as a visual artist, to prefer the visual arts. Also note that just because she is a good speaker or writer does not mean she enjoys reading, speech and writing are skills you learn, so is reading but it doesn't mean she enjoys them.
